Procedure to prepare Red Gram with Tender
Tamarind Leaves:
Step 1: Firstly wash
the red gram and soak it for about 30 minutes and chop the onion and green
chili lengthwise. Keep aside.
Step 2: Wash the tamarind leaves drain the excess water and slightly crush the
tender tamarind leaves with your hands then set aside.
Step 3: Take a pressure cooker add soaked red gram, chopped onion, green chili and pour 4 cups of water and cover the
cooker pan with the lid and cook it for 5 whistles. Set aside till pressure
goes off.
Step 4: Take another
pan add cooked red gram, slightly crushed tender tamarind leaves, slat as per taste,
red chilli powder and add some water cook it 5 minutes then switch off the
flame.
Step 5: Once cooked
mash a bit with using wooden spoon.
Step 6: For
seasoning take a frying pan pour oil; add cumin, mustard, slightly crushed garlic
cloves, few curry leaves and dry chilli fry it 1 minute.
Step 7: After that
add prepared seasoning to the boiled red gram and mix well cook it 2 minutes
switch off the stove.
Step 8: Try and serve this recipe hot
along with steam rice. Enjoy the taste of Red gram with tender tamarind leaves
