Bitter Gourd with Red Chilli Curry or Kakaraya Karam Curry

Ingredients:
    Bitter Gourd with Red Chilli Curry or Kakarakaya Karam Ingredients
  • ·         Bitter gourds – 4.
  • ·         Onion – 1.
  • ·         Chopped Coriander – 1/2 cup. 
  • ·         Ginger and garlic cloves –  1/2 cup.
  • ·         Green chilli – 4.
  • ·         Cumin seeds – 1 tablespoon.
  • ·         Tamarind pulp – 1 cup.
  • ·         Turmeric powder – 1/2 tablespoon.
  • ·         Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tablespoon.
  • ·         Salt to taste.
  • ·         Oil as required.
  • ·         Water as needed. 

Steps to Prepare Bitter Gourd with Red Chilli Curry / Kakarakaya Karam Recipe:

Step 1:  Firstly clean and chop the bitter gourd in medium size.

Step 2: Take a pan pour water add chopped bitter gourd, turmeric powder, tamarind pulp and salt mix it well boil it for 15 minutes then set aside.

Bitter Gourd with Red Chilli Curry or Kakarakaya Karam RecipeStep 3: Now take a mixer add chopped onion, green chilli, cumin seeds, ginger pieces and garlic cloves grind all ingredients and prepare thick paste.

Step 4: Take another pan pour oil and add onions paste fry it 10 minutes in medium flame until the raw aroma of onion paste goes off and onions paste change the color.

Step 5: After that add the boiled bitter gourd and salt as per taste cook it 10 minutes in medium flame.

Step 6: Now add red chili powder and chopped coriander cook it 1 minute after that heat off.
