Directions to Make
Bitter Gourd Stew or Bitter Gourd Pulusu Recipe:
Step 1: Firstly wash bitter gourd and slightly remove the skin and chop it into
medium size and remove the seeds from it and set aside then wash the onion and
g
reen chilli and cut them into medium size and set aside into a plate.
Step 2: Take a bowl add bitter gourd pieces and add turmeric powder mix it very well
and marinate it for about 15 minutes.
Step 3: Wash the ginger well and remove the skin from the ginger and set aside now
take a mixer add ginger piece, garlic cloves and add cumin seeds grind it well
and make a fine paste by adding little amount of water then transfer the
prepared paste into a bowl and keep aside.
Step 4: Heat oil in a vessel add chopped onion, green chili and add fenugreek
seeds fry it in normal flame till it gets light golden brown
Step 5: Now add marinated bitter gourd pieces fry it for about 5 minutes in medium
heat
Step 6: Add them prepared paste mix it very well everything together and add
coriander powder and red chilli powder mix well and fry it for about 1 minute
in normal heat.
Step 7: In the same vessel pour water and cook it for about 10 minutes till the
bitter gourd is soft and completely cooked then add tamarind pulp and add
required quantity of salt then mix well and allow it to cook.
Step 8: Bring to a boil and reduce flame and cover with lid till the gravy
thickens and you see some specks of oil on the top turn off the heat.
Step 9: Try and serve this tasty bitter gourd tangy gravy food recipe. Enjoy the
taste of this recipe along hot boiled rice.
