Ingredients:
- · Red gram – 2 cups.
- · Sorrel – 3 cups.
- · Chopped Onion- 2 tablespoons.
- · Green chilli – 4.
- · Crushed Garlic – 3 tablespoons.
- · Chopped Dry Red chilli – 3 tablespoons.
- · Mustard – 1/2 tablespoon.
- · Cumin – 1/2 tablespoon.
- · Curry leaves –few.
- · Salt to taste.
- · Red chilli powder – 2 tablespoons.
- · Oil as required.
- · Water – 5 cups.
- · Chopped coriander – 2 tablespoons.
Instructions to Prepare Red Gram with
Sorrel:
Step 1: Firstly
clean the sorrel and red gram then soak the red gram for about 30 minutes.
Step 2 : Take a
cooker add soaked red gram, and chopped onions, chopped green chillies, and 4 cups water cover the cooker pan with lid
cook it for 5 whistles set it aside till
the pressure goes off.
Step 3: Mash the red
gram with wooden spoon.
Step 4: Take a pan add
boiled and mashed red gram, chopped sorrel, chopped coriander, red chilli
powder, one cup of water and salt as per taste cook it 10 minutes.
Step 5: Meanwhile take
a frying pan for tempering pour oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, slightly
crushed garlic cloves, few curry leaves and chopped red chilli cook it for
about 5 minutes in medium flame.
Step 6: And add this seasoning in cooked red gram
blend it well then heat off.
Step 7: Try and serve
this tasty red gram with sorrel is the best combination of rice and idli.
