Red Gram With Sorrel


Ingredients:
    Red Gram With Sorrel Ingredients
  • ·         Red gram  – 2 cups.
  • ·         Sorrel – 3 cups.
  • ·         Chopped Onion- 2 tablespoons.
  • ·         Green chilli – 4.
  • ·         Crushed Garlic – 3 tablespoons.
  • ·         Chopped Dry Red chilli – 3 tablespoons.
  • ·         Mustard – 1/2 tablespoon.
  • ·         Cumin – 1/2 tablespoon.
  • ·         Curry leaves –few.
  • ·         Salt to taste.
  • ·         Red chilli powder – 2 tablespoons.
  • ·         Oil  as required.
  • ·         Water – 5 cups.
  • ·         Chopped coriander – 2 tablespoons.
Instructions to Prepare Red Gram with Sorrel:

Step 1: Firstly clean the sorrel and red gram then soak the red gram for about 30 minutes.  

Step 2 : Take a cooker add soaked red gram, and chopped onions, chopped green chillies, and  4 cups water cover the cooker pan with lid cook it for  5 whistles set it aside till the pressure goes off.

Step 3: Mash the red gram with wooden spoon.

Step 4: Take a pan add boiled and mashed red gram, chopped sorrel, chopped coriander, red chilli powder, one cup of water and salt as per taste cook it 10 minutes.

Red Gram With Sorrel RecipeStep 5: Meanwhile take a frying pan for tempering pour oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, slightly crushed garlic cloves, few curry leaves and chopped red chilli cook it for about 5 minutes in medium flame.

Step 6:  And add this seasoning in cooked red gram blend it well then heat off.

Step 7: Try and serve this tasty red gram with sorrel is the best combination of rice and idli.
