Making Process of Citron Pickle Recipe:

Citron Pickle Recipe IngredientsStep 1: Firstly wash and wipe the citron with cotton towel or absorbent paper and chop it into medium size pieces and set aside.

Step 2 : Take a large bowl or jar add chopped citron pieces and add required amount of rock salt then mix them very well together and close the jar with lid and leave it for 3 to 4 days or till the pieces become soft every day morning and evening stir the pieces well with wooden spoon and close the lid do this process for 3 to 4 days.

Citron Pickle RecipeStep 3 : Heat a pan add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds fry it well till the raw aroma goes off then turn off the heat and allow it to cool then take a mixer add fried mustard and fenugreek seeds grind them very well and make a fine powder.

Step 4: Remove to citron mixture jar lid and add mustard and fenugreek seeds powder, red chili powder and add less quantity of slat and pour lukewarm oil to the mixture then stir them very well together and set aside.

Step 5 : Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, black gram, garlic pods, few curry leaves, pinch of asafoetida powder and add dry chili fry it medium heat till all ingredients become roasted then turn off the heat and transfer it to the pickle mixture jar them mix them well and close the lid.

Step 6: Let the pickle stand for 3 days before using so that the pickle get marinated and flavors blend nicely.     

Step 7: Enjoy the taste of the citron pickle recipe with curd rice or steamed rice or idly.
