Ingredients:
- · Red gram – 1 cup
- · Chopped Brinjal – 2cups
- · Green chilli – 3
- · Bengal gram – 1/2 tablespoon
- · Black gram – 1/2 tablespoon
- · Mustard – 1/2 tablespoon
- · Tamarind juice – 1/4 cup
- · Salt to taste
- · Red chilli powder as per required
- · Oil as required
- · Onion – 1
- · Garlic cloves – 5
- · Curry leaves – few
- · Dry red chilli – 2
- · Water – 4 cups
- · Chopped Coriander – 1/4 cup.
Procedure to
Prepare Red Gram With Brinjal:
Step 1: Firstly take
a pan add red gram and fry it for about 10 minutes in medium flame.
Step 2: Now take a
bowl pour water add fried red gram soak it for about 30 minutes then drain the
water.
Step 3: Clean and Wash the onion and green chilli
chop them into medium size. And add the chopped brinjals in salt water.
Step 4: Now take a cooker
pour water, add soaked red gram, chopped brinjals, green chilli, onion and salt
as per required quantity. Cover the cooker with the lid and cook it for about 3
whistles. Keep it aside until the pressure goes off.
Step 5: Open the
cooker lid and mash the red gram with wooden spoon and add tamarind juice,
chopped coriander and red chilli powder heat it for 5 minutes in medium flame.
Step 6: Meanwhile prepare for seasoning;
take a frying pan pour oil, add mustard, Bengal gram, Black gram, garlic cloves, curry leaves and dry red chilli fry it 2 minutes until it
become crackle.
Step 7: Now add the seasoning to cooked red gram mix it well together all the
ingredients then heat off.
Step 8: Try and serve this tasty south Indian red gram with brinjal curry with
cooked rice.
